At the NCAA cross country championships Dathan Ritzenheim and Shalane Flanagan took home the individual
title and Stanford swept the team titles.

In the 4k at the USA Cross Country Championships Charlie Grubber took home the mens title in 11.14 and
Shalene Flanagan took home the womens title in 12.26. In the womens 8k Collene De Reuck took home the title in
26.16. In the mens 12k Bob Kennedy took home the title in 35.03.

In the marathon at the olympic trials Alan Culpepper took home the mens title
in 2:11:42 and Collen De Reuck took home the womens title in 2:28:25

In the 4k at the IAAF World Cross Country Championships Kenenisa Bekele of Ethiopia took home the mens
title in 11.31 and Edith Masai of Kenya took home the womens title in 13.07. In the womens 8k Benita Johnson
of Australia took home the title in 27.17. In the mens 12k Bekele Kenenisa of Etheopia took home the title in 35.52.
June 9-12,2004 NCAA Outdoor Championships
In the 10000m Alistar Craigg of Arkansas took home the mens title
in 29:22 and Alicia Craigg of Stanford took home the womens title in 33:59. In the 1500m Chris Mulveney of Arkansas
took home the mens title in 3:44 and Tiffany McWilliams of Mississippi State took home the womens title in 3:11. In
the 5000m Robert Cheseret of Arizona took home the mens title in 13:49 and Kim Smith of Providence took home the womens title
in 15:48. In the 3000m steeplechase Jordan Desilets of Eastern Michigan took home the mens title in 8:42 and Ida Neilsson
of Norther Arizona took home the womens title in 9:48.
July 9-18, 2004 USA olympic trials
In the 10000m Meb Keflezighi
took home the mens title in 27.36 and Deena Kastor took home the womens title in 31.09. In the 5000m Tim Broe took home
the mens title in 13.27 and altho he is the U.S. champion he did not meet the A qualifying time so only 2nd place Jonathan
Riley will represent the U.S. at the olympics and Shayne Culpepper took home the womens title in 15:07. In
the 3000m steeplechase Daniel Lincoln took home the mens title in 8:15 and Ann Gaffigan took home the womens title in
9:39. In the 1500m dash Alan Webb took home the mens title in 3.36 and Carrie Tollefson took home the womens title in
4.08.
